Is my barber cutting my hairline back to far?

alright im a black male. and i get a shape up once a week or a cut if its to nappy. i think my barber is cutting my hairline back to far because after like 3 days of shape up i can see like hair growing on the sides of hairline and on the top like my widows peak is growing. so is he cutting it back to far? or should i just not get a hair/shape up for a couple of weeks so i can wait until my hairline goes back to its normal place?
